Got to site early sunday morning, Unloaded and went inside dumped out kit and gave Tim and Lee a hand to set up the marquea, nice sized staging area soon the smell of bacon wafted round the safezone.... awesome!!
The site was long and narrow and as this was my first
time here i was a little disappointed, initially, as i had it in my head that BZ was some massively long and wide site with humongous structures and fortifications. I was wrong.
What the site was, is fantastic, the game zones flowed into on another by using natuaral cover as
screens allowing both teams to flank and attack from different
positions and the structures, the helicoper, the ship!! all awesome to play in against, all over!! a real pleasure to be here guys.
Big love to Tim, Lee and the Mrs's for the organisation, to the whole BZ crew for letting us tear up the site, to Tank for leading us, to Stella and his German forces for losing gracefaully.... (Facebook here i come......) and the weather for not dumping a whole load of Northern rain on my fat southern ass!!.
Now Neil from BZ handed me one of the new X7 Phenoms, when i had stopped grinning in excitement......(no comment) i decided to put it to good use, the marker is shorter,
lighter than the standard X7 and
shoots like a dream. The "stock"
barrel was highly accurate and i proved it by hitting a target several times that my X7 with hammerhead and 007's X7 with apex on couldn't hit.
The out of the box modes of fire are semi and turbo which was great to use but a big paint eater but the bonus to this marker is that if your battery dies mid game its not the end of the world, flick it to semi and the
mechanical side of the marker takes over. and you can carry on until such times as you can swap out the battery from the quick change area at the back.
If you want to know how good this marker is ask Ewok, he spent 2 hours short of
violence trying to get it off me and when Paul (BZ) told me i had to give it over his face lit up only to be dashed when i had to give it to Tank....
In short the X7 Phenom will be my next marker. you don't need to do anything to it to have an awesome piece of kit. Now i just have to persuade the wife.........
Lastly i'm sure someone of authority will comment on the incident at the end of game 2, i wasn't there so i wont. but i know know Steve was in agony for the entire 5 hour drive home.
