Hey bikermouse,
You stumbled across the right place, Ive come from another paintball site and played with these guys on saturday, real good laugh, guys are spot on and very helpful. Dont buy your own gear until your wanting to get into the sport seriously as its pretty costly, Ive just gone down this route as Im going to be a regular and Ive spent in excess of £300, you wont need to spent that much but a
realistic figure for a setup that your not gonna be disappointed with is still gonna be around 200quid. Until youve had a few games I wouldnt recommend it as its expensive and to keep your marker in top
condition your gonna want to service it after everygame, if your not used to taking things apart then its probably not worth getting a marker of your own for a good while.
As Garage says, theres practically no difference between the site provided guns and the guns that people own. The
faster fire he mentions is due to
upgrades and practise of a fast
trigger finger. A friend of mine came along on saturday and used the site guns as he doesnt want to buy his own and we co-op'ed all day and his site gun was no less
accurate than my brand new gun which set me back a total of £165.
What it basically boils down to is knowing your gun. The more you get used to one thing the better you get with it. My gun will only ever be used by me, and Ill never use another gun, so the more I use it the more Ill get better with how far I can shoot and still be accurate. Since all guns naturally
vary slightly due to
differing degrees of usage, age,
manufacturer etc etc etc then
picking up one gun will always be different in some way to another, even if its the same model of marker, unless your gonna shoot pretty regular then you wont notice any difference as you wont be using it enough to either get specialised with that marker or tell the slight irregularities between markers. The site guns are very good and my mate had no hassle with it all day.
So save yourself some cash for now and get involved with a game asap! £50 is a good budget to go for. Im
organising a company game and have advised everyone to bring ATLEAST £40, most people who are new wont use that, I used to use between 300-500 in a whole day, but its definately better to have more money than you need, than need it and not have it, cos leaving a game midway is sure gonna suck, if you expect to spent 50quid and dont, well youll be able to stop off for a ice cold beer on the way home!
