Cessle's Ioin

Postby Scally on Sat Jan 10, 2009 12:49 pm

cessle gave me his ion to have a look at and if possible fix cause he said there was a leak....now apologies again to him cause i have only just had the time to sit down and look at it (about 2months later )

anywho, it was chucking air out the front, so it was either the reg or the tubing in the front.......so i dismantelled and i reckon its in the reg.....my problem now??

the ion was orginally Joshy's, son of Jeremy the plumber (ooo nickname haha).......i can't get the fecking reg off the ion....i've tried and without chucking it at a wall, i can't do it.......gonna get some tools on it later but cessle, your ion still isn't fixed......:(

the tubes and things are fine, i've replaced those before he put his QEV in

the reg, it's probably just 'man-tight' and i can't undo it, when i get some time, i will ask my father for use of his mole grip and get the Reg off, i think it's in there where the leak is DDR, almost positive it's in there!!

it's an upgraded Reg, not 100% sure which one, and now it's back home and i'm at uni again :?

any thoughts DDR?? :P

erm, without getting my grubbly little mits on it off the top of my head, if you do get the reg off, (If its all metal and black and shiny and a bit more stubby then the standard one its a CP reg. once you get that off and if he still has the stock one, sling that on before you start taking the other one to bits for no reason to rule out leaks in other parts of the marker. When i put mt qev in it actually changed the length of the line and i did get a little leak around the board., other than checking all the elbows and makign sure the macroline hasnt worn inside the elbow bit hard without seeing it first hand.

could be right with the Reg there....Cessle doesn't have the stock one no, he bought it 2nd hand from Joshy, but after the 3player (Feb) i should get my Ion and the boss's so clean so i'll use those stock Regs to try...

previously Cessle had a broken elbow an tubing, so i replaced those....thinking now (as i don't have it on me at this moment) it's either the tube from the Reg into the marker (front of Ion) or the Reg itself.....but that's a plan with using the stock Reg!!!

also, Cessle needs to buy a new board....the trigger mechanism has broken, and i've got no idea when, where, how or why....! :?

Cessle what have you been doin gto this poor ion lol.

My ions macroline used to leak on and off for no reason and you jsut had to re push it right in to the elbow hard and if its war it leaked. also sometimes if paint had got in to the fixing the oil form it used to make it leak bloody usless., if the elbow on that reg has been replaced it may just be comign out the thread, bit of ptfe to test then if it is that a little bit of lock tight if your doing a proper job or just leave the ptfe in it.

cessle i did have a board somewhere that i killed changing the grips but didnt change to shallow screws, but the trigger was almost new so you could solder it off and drop it on the board you have....thats if ive not binned it thinking.

But as i said have a word with gommie as im sure he has some stock boards that he will look after you on.

Hope you sort it guys.
